I made fondant flowers for the first time, and they came out so beautiful, I am really proud of myself. I used my homemade marshmallow fondant recipe and then I used Wilton icing coloring to make blue and yellow fondant, those were the colors of the event that I was making the cupcakes and flowers for. I have to say that kneading the color in the fondant is a lot of work, it took me about 25 minutes for one color, its a workout! I made red velvet, vanilla pudding and lemon blossom cupcakes, and they came out so moist and good. When I dropped them off, the people were so excited with how they turned out which is exciting for me to see. So I guess I am moving on up in the cupcake and cookie business, I know no how to do a little decorating.

These look soooooooooo beautiful
ReplyDeleteI'd love to try and make your homemade marshmallow fondant.
I have a question though - when you knead the fondant - why not with the mixer (as I do with bread-dough)?. Wouldn't it be easier to incorporate the color?
Thanks!
It would be easier, I guess I am just used to doing it the old fashioned way, I do the same when I make bread. I will try it that way when I make more fondant on Wed.
DeleteThanks so much for your reply :)
DeleteI'd really like to try your fondant, especially when it looks sooooooooo good.
I work a lot with yeast (I specialized in baking challahs) and I let the mixer do most of the kneading :)
So beautiful.. I couldn't eat them! See you on the Creative Monday.
