Waffles you say..well waffles can be food for any part of the day, or a dessert! My hubbie bought me a waffle iron a couple months ago, and I love it! I have made all different kinds of waffles, my kiddies love homemade waffles, they don't know what I am going to put on top or inside the batter. So they are always surprised. This recipe is just a basic waffle recipe!
Waffles
2 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
3 tbsplight brown sugar
3 whole eggs
4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
2 cups buttermilk
Canola oil for waffle iron
Directions
Preheat waffle iron!
In a medium bowl whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder and sugar. In another bowl beat together eggs and melted butter, and then add the buttermilk. Add the wet ingredients to the dry and stir until combined.
Use a ladle to pour the mixture on your waffle iron. Close iron top and cook until the waffle is golden on both sides and is easily removed from waffle iron. You can put powdered sugar, syrup or fresh fruit on top!

I love a good waffle & have never tried making them whole wheat. They look yummy! Visiting from DearCreatives.com & a new follower.
ReplyDeleteI made whole wheat waffles once a long time ago and I don't think my family even noticed the difference. These look heavenly! New follower...would love if you stopped by P3 sometime to say HI.
ReplyDeleteThese waffles look great! I like the choice of whole wheat and now need to get a waffle maker. I ate more than my share of waffles in college-- in my first semester I was thrilled to find a waffle maker in the dining hall. After every dinner I'd have a waffle with ice cream. Guess you know how I gained my freshman 15 pounds!
ReplyDeleteYummm!! These look delicious!!
